INFORMATION ABOUT THE INSIGNIA / EMBLEM / LOGO:

The American Dental Association started using this insignia as the official symbol of dentistry in 1965. The emblem of dentistry is taken from Asclepius, a Greek god of medicine and healing. His symbol is a physician’s staff with a snake wrapped around it. The snake’s shedding of skin represented healing and rejuvenation. In honor of Asclepius, ancient Greeks would use non-venomous snakes in healing rituals and let them crawl freely on the floor among the sick and injured.

On the periphery of the emblem, you will notice two Greek letters, Delta ( Δ ) and Omicron ( Ο ). Delta represents dentistry, and Omicron is a symbol for odont, or tooth. The word “Dentistry” is inscribed upon the bottom half of the circle.

The interior of the circle is a particular shade of purple called lilac, which dates back to the National Association of Dental Faculties in 1897. To this day, dental graduates use purple in their gowns and caps, and the color is often found in dental publications.

In the center of the insignia there is snake coiled around a physician’s staff comes from Asclepius, the ancient Greek god of medicine and healing.  Behind the snake there are two branches bearing 20 berries and 32 leaves representative of the permanent and temporary teeth.

This personalized pacifier clip is the ideal size and measures at approximately 7.5 inches in length, when either end is snapped closed. On one end, you'll find a snap button. This button of your baby's pacifier holder is what can be attached to their pacifier to hold is securely in place. Simply open the snap, slip it through the pacifier opening, and snap it back into place. On the opposite end of this baby pacifier holder, you'll find a metal clip that can secure to a baby's collar or sleeve. This clip ensures that the strap stays in place, and that your baby's pacifier is always on hand.

If your baby's pacifier does not come with an opening that you can use to attach the clip, do not worry! We also offer silicone pacifier holders that can be purchased separately. This holder has an opening to attach the pacifier clip and another large opening to accommodate the pacifier itself. The silicone material of that holder allows it to stretch to fit most sizes and shapes of pacifiers.

To clean your child's custom pacifier clip, we advise that you wash it by hand. You can scrub stains with a mild detergent. Allow to air dry properly before using the strap again.
