INFORMATION ABOUT THE INSIGNIA / EMBLEM / LOGO:

The American Dental Association started using this insignia as the official symbol of dentistry in 1965. The emblem of dentistry is taken from Asclepius, a Greek god of medicine and healing. His symbol is a physician’s staff with a snake wrapped around it. The snake’s shedding of skin represented healing and rejuvenation. In honor of Asclepius, ancient Greeks would use non-venomous snakes in healing rituals and let them crawl freely on the floor among the sick and injured.

On the periphery of the emblem, you will notice two Greek letters, Delta ( Δ ) and Omicron ( Ο ). Delta represents dentistry, and Omicron is a symbol for odont, or tooth. The word “Dentistry” is inscribed upon the bottom half of the circle.

The interior of the circle is a particular shade of purple called lilac, which dates back to the National Association of Dental Faculties in 1897. To this day, dental graduates use purple in their gowns and caps, and the color is often found in dental publications.

In the center of the insignia there is snake coiled around a physician’s staff comes from Asclepius, the ancient Greek god of medicine and healing.  Behind the snake there are two branches bearing 20 berries and 32 leaves representative of the permanent and temporary teeth.

These book covers are fabricated from a fine leatherette in a warm, cognac shade of brown. A wide pocket spans across the front of the book jacket [2,400] and can store any loose papers or notes that you wish to keep. The interior of this personalized Bible cover includes slots on both sides to house the covers of your Bible, and keep it in place. The inside of the spine has a small elastic band to secure a pen. A zipper lines three sides of the cover, while the fourth side features a reinforced handle that allows for easy transport of your enclosed book.

We offer these custom book covers in several variations. First, we offer two different sizes. Our small can accommodate books of up to 8.5" x 6" x 2". The larger size can fit books up to 10" x 7.125" x 2". Both of these sizes can then be customized according to your preference; you can either choose to laser engrave a design on the front and back, or solely the front.

If your Bible case ever dirties, simply wipe its surface with a damp cloth and some light detergent. We advise that you remove your book prior to cleaning. Allow it to air dry before reinserting your book.
